Grave and I had planned to go on a short adventure over the long weekend, it'd been a while and us and the dogs needed out of the house. Taf and his friend decided to caravan with us (Separate cars for safety. When we were out of the cars we kept appropriate distance, and we all wore masks! We adventured together, but did not get close to one another, which is why all of our photos are selfies instead of having Taf take them for us haha. Thank god for selfie sticks.)
We decided to head towards Grand Coulee, and Dry Falls. Nowhere new, but still adventuring none the less. Grave and I decided to bring the plaid sheps along to get some fursuit photos!
Thankfully, the roads were great today. We were a little worried about slush and ice. But everything on the roads had melted so we were able to drive around safely. We ended up heading all the way to Grand Coulee first. But we did make one quick stop at Banks Lake, which we had never stopped at before to check it out.

We all walked around and explored a little but and we walked our dogs. The wind made it so bitterly cold! Even all covered up all of us were freezing! So after we walked our dogs around I knew I wanted to suit up for some pics and to warm up a bit haha. Although, the wind was so strong and cold Heart's handpaws did no good in warming up my hands, haha. But we still got some great photos.
After getting photos and videos, we walked back to the car and decided to head for the dam. We would of explored more here, but that wind was just so heckin cold. So we piled back into our cars and headed back to the road.
We got to Grand Coulee and decided to head up to a lookout that was up on the cliffs. We have been here before with Greyscale and Toner, but we didn't have suits that day so I had yet to get fursuit photos here. We again got out and explored with the dogs for a while, checking out the scenery.

We climbed up and down some rocks, walked around the gazebo, and what not. Letting our dogs explore. They had been here before with us last time, but even still. Our dogs love exploring. After a while we wanted to get our fursuit pics so we could move on, so we took our dogs to the car and suited up. Really like the pics we got here!
After we got all the photos we wanted, we desuited and everyone go back into their cars again. We decided to head down to the dam and check it out as well.
We didn't get any fursuit photos here, we just checked things out and walked the dogs around the park. Everything here is closed due to covid, so there wasn't much to do.

We did see some deer, though! It was kinda funny cause we didn't notice them until we were walking back to our cars and they were probably laying there the whole time, hahaha. Thankfully, our dogs did not charge or bark at them, they just watched them curiously. After we finished walking around there, we got back into our cars and headed for Dry Falls. Taf and his friend had to stop at a gas station so Grave and I went on ahead and made it there before they did. We figured we should get our fursuit photos really quick before taking the dogs out and stuff. When we arrived there were some people at the balcony so we played Pokemon Go and waited haha. When they finished, we got suited up and walked to the balcony. The selfie stick really gave us a hard time so it took us a while to actually get our photos. But we finally got it to work and got some great shots! |
Grave had never been in suit on this balcony before, so he was pretty nervous on there haha! (When you're in suit, and you walk out onto this thin balcony over the cliff edge, you cannot see the ground what so ever unless you fully look down at your feet because of your suit's limited vision. So it's a little nerve wracking to be on there in suit!) He had some shaky legs but we got photos and video before walking off and back to our car to put our suits safely away.
By now Taf and his friend had caught up to us. So we got the dogs out and walked around (Distanced of course) together. The weirdest thing ended up happening though. We were walking under the visitor center to get photos of the dogs (The building has an overhang) and as we were walking over there, 10 to 15 cars suddenly drove into the parking lot and 4 to 5 people came out of every car. They all came in at once and it was just so odd! None of them were wearing masks of any kind so the 4 of us quickly walked as far away as we could. The huge group went to the balcony, took photos and then as quickly as they came, they left. Again, all at once. It was almost like a flash mob without any dancing hahaha. All 4 of us were so confused! Grave and I were so glad we got our fursuit photos already, we would of been so uncomfortable being mobbed by that many people.
Anyway, we walked around with the dogs, checked out the view and everything. Just kinda chilled out. I have never been to Dry Falls in the winter time so it was really cool to see it in the snow.

After we all explored around and stuff, we decided to head out. Taf and his friend had somewhere to be. So we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways once we got into the next town. Grave and I drove home safely. We got Heart and Beat brushed and put away, and the dogs fell asleep pretty quickly haha.
It was a fun day of exploring! I could of done without the bitterly cold wind, but what are you gonna do. It is winter after all haha. Thanks to Taf for joining us, even if we had to take separate cars and distance it was still fun! Thanks to Grave for suiting with me!
