A few days ago, I was browsing FurBuy, just cause I was bored. I came across this Shiba Inu suit auction, I clicked it, and fell in love fast. It was so cute! I found myself going back and looking at it over and over. I noticed the price wasn't too bad. I found the maker on FA and found all the photos of the suit. I fell in love the more I looked at it! I wanted to keep an eye on it. The price stayed the same until the night before it ended. A couple people bid a few times, the morning of, I decided to throw a bid in. Me and one other person had a bit of a war, and then I hit my spending limit. I knew I would be outbid. I never got an email all day saying I was, so 10 minutes before the auctions end, I started to countdown the time. My name still in the winning bidder spot. Next thing I knew, it ended. I was like "wait, did I win?" then I got an email saying "Congratulations on your bidding!" I had won! The shiba puppy was mine! I was so happy! I emailed the seller immediately and we worked out shipping and everything by the next morning, and she was kind enough to ship it that same day! To arrive the following Saturday. So I went and asked my friends who wanted to be here when I opened the suit and everyone did! So I anxiously awaited his arrival!
I wanted ideas for names, so I asked my friends. The name Waffles was from my buddy Taf, who made a bunch of name suggestions on twitter. For some reason Waffles just felt like it fit! So it stuck. I checked the tracking like crazy until Saturday. I decided to spend the day cleaning, and reorganizing my fursuit room. To accommodate the new suit, and just cause it really needed to be done. About halfway through the intense cleaning, I knew mail would come at any time, I got too jumpy to keep cleaning. So I decided to sit and watch TV until the mail came. I only waited for about a half an hour then I saw the mail person in my driveway! He was here! I opened the door and kindly took the package, wished the mail lady a great day, and went inside and danced like a dork. New suit, new suit, new suit! Waffles was home! I wanted to open it so bad! But I wanted to wait for my friends. So I put the box on my bed in my bedroom and then went back to cleaning my fursuit room. I was at least relieved that he made it safely and was home. I got it done in about 3 or 4 hours. It looks so nice in there now. I made room on my head shelf for Waffles, as well as room in the closet for his pieces. Once I finished, I wasn't sure what else to do. I had to keep busy to keep myself from wanting to open the box. Soon Shallic and Guardian came over, and we hung out all day until Taf and Keelan could arrive that evening.
Once the other 2 arrived, and Grave had come back home, we got right to it! Unboxing time! Grave grabbed the camera and I started unboxing right away. After a bit of trouble I finally got the tape cut and opened the box. First there was a short note from the maker as well as some of their business cards. I wanted to find the tail first. The tail is glorious! So fluffy and amazing! The flat backing on the tail was perfect. But it was time for the mask! I felt around in the box, and pulled it out. Ahhhh it was so cute! Even more so in person! I was so excited! After looking at it a little, I tried it on of course.

It fit very well! Just a little too large, but not enough to cause a problem, the extra room is actually super comfortable. The vision is fantastic! The ventilation area is a little small, but it's ok. And the lining inside is very comfortable. I was so happy! I went around and assaulted everyone with the amazingly plush and squishy nose then decided to get the other pieces and try it all on! I had purchased a pair of handpaws from Shagpoke at VancouFur this year, simply because I loved them. They didn't belong to any certain suit (I did use them with Sno for a bit) and I figured that maybe Snoqualmie's sleeves would fit well! So I would have a full partial. I put on my plush sneaker, and all the pieces of the suit. It actually all looked super well together! I was really happy.
We took a bunch of photos and a Vine and I debuted Waffles on Twitter. I ran around the house in my suit for a while before taking it off to socialize with my friends. I was super happy they were all there, friends being there for unboxings make them so much more fun, and more special too. It was a really fun night! Thank you Taf, Shallic, Apollo, and Keelan for joining Grave and I for the unboxing!
Here is to many years with Waffles the Shiba Inu Puppy! (Made by Dragon Soup Costumes) He will be much loved here!

At the end of the night it felt amazing to put Waffles in the empty space on the mask shelf. I am extremely happy to add Waffles to my fursuit family. <3
