I have been so excited for this adventure since after BLFC last year when we decided to do it! I have seen so many amazing photos from this location and I am more than happy I got to see it for myself.
Thursday morning we woke up a bit early and headed for the car rental place and picked up a car (we had a trailer attached to our car and didn't want to leave it in the parking lot so this was easier.) then we headed to the mountains! Luckily it's only a little less than an hour away from the GSR. I had never been farther than the GSR so this was an adventure for me! I was looking out the windows the whole drive drive up there. Sorta feeling the effects of climbing even higher in elevation but too excited to be worried about it!

Soon enough we started seeing signs for Lake Tahoe and then we were on park roads. We drove through beautiful forest before suddenly the lake was revealed! And it was beautiful! I couldn't believe it!
We continued driving until we saw signs for Sandy Harbor beach. We noticed there was a gift shop there as well so we stopped and parked and headed into the shop. It also ended up being an interpretive center as well! So we went through that and learned a bit about Lake Tahoe.
After we went through all the informational stuff we went into the gift shop, bought a couple things then headed back out to explore. I wanted to walk just a bit before suiting up. We made our way down to one of the beaches and I was aw struck by the water. It's so clear, and such a magnificent blue!
We walked around a little before deciding to drive further down to find a better spot for photos. So we walked back to the car and piled in then continued down roads. We ended up near a boat launch and we parked the car and suited up. Once me and Siro were suited we walked down the docks and again I couldn't believe the color of this water! We took some photos and videos, then we sadly learned our car wasn't supposed to be there so Grave had to leave us to move the car back to where it was originally. But Siro and I walked around the nearby area with the GoPro and took some videos. Soon enough Grave was back to snap more photos on this beach.
We made our way down a sidewalk until we saw the large pile of rocks and decided to head up that path to get more photos.
The views just kept getting better as we went along. Soon enough we came across more rocks that looked, climbable. So I took off my head and hands and climbed up a little bit so Grave could get some neat photos of me and Siro on the rocks.
After taking the photos Siro needed a break so Grave climbed up with me, then climbed up even higher onto the rocks to find a good place to take off his drone. (He got permission to fly here!) While he was setting up I also took off my head and hands and relaxed a bit, took some photos to share with family. As well as just enjoying the beautiful views around me.
After he flew around the landscapes a bit he told us to resuit up so he could film us a bit. So he flew around the rocks we were on and we had fun with that. Once he landed we took a break again, and I decided to try to climb to where Grave was so I kept on climbing the rocks. I didn't quite make it to where he was, but I got a neat view anyway and took another photo!
After I took that he helped me climb down to where my suit was and he went down to where Siro was and we took more photos and videos before I climbed back down as well and we took the last set of photos near the water.
It was getting very warm up there, and we were tired and hungry. So we decided it was time to go. Siro and I splashed the water on our faces and it was so refreshing! Next year maybe we can go swimming in there! Haha.
We then made our way back to our car and loaded up the suits before driving away. This time I got the side with the lake views!

We decided to go to one more view point before heading back to Reno, recommended by Wolever Wolf. It was about 10 minutes from where we were at. We drove down the highway until we found the spot and then we parked and suited up. This time Grave joined us for photos!
We had fun checking out the view and taking photos here! Thanks to the kind couple who helped take photos of all 3 of us! Much appreciated!
After taking photos we decided it was time to head back to Reno. We were all super hungry. So we went back to the car and made our way back down the mountains. We drove back to Reno and decided to stop at In n' Out, which none of us had tried before but everyone always raved about it. So we got lunch and chilled out and ate. I was already so sleepy but it was only mid afternoon! And I had a whole convention in front of me. (Which will be it's own post)
Going to Lake Tahoe was for sure a highlight of the con weekend for me. It was beautiful, and seeing it for myself is something to remember forever! We hope to go back next year!
