It was finally here, I almost couldn't believe it! It felt like I had been waiting a lifetime. But it was here! BLFC! Yay! Best convention of the year and I was more than ready. Siro came over the night before we left and we got a lot of things packed up before getting some sleep. For in the morning, the journey begins!
Wednesday morning rolls around, we woke up early, packed up the car and trailer, and then shoved off! To Reno, away! We had a 12 hour car ride ahead of us. However, it was smooth sailing. The drive was pretty steady, we did have some heavy rain in southern Washington and into Oregon. Maps took us a slightly different route this year and I got to see some neat places I have been learning about in my geology lectures which was really cool! Pretty glad maps took us that way! The rain sure was persistent but eventually we found the blue sky.

We made our way through Washington, Oregon, and a little bit of Idaho before hitting Nevada! Although, we did make a short stop in southern Oregon somewhere so Grave could fly his drone and we took the time to stretch and take a couple fursuit selfies (and waved at people passing by hahaha)
After he got his drone broken back down we piled back into the car and continued our journey. For the Nevada boarder was close! Soon enough, we saw the little town just over the state line and saw the Welcome to Nevada sign. Yes! Hello, Nevada! We made a pit stop then continued on to Reno! This part of the drive, as usual, lasted forever. But soon enough, there it was, we could see it in the distance as we came around a hill, the GSR! Everyone in the car screamed in excitement! And wowee, did we make it in good time or what.
We made our way to the front of the GSR and pulled in, me and Siro went inside to check into our room while Grave waited for the bell service to help him unload. We got checked in smoothly with no issues and they even fulfilled a couple of my requests which was great of them. Once we had the keys we went back out to Grave who was still waiting, but then a bell service guy came by and we began the great unloading. Many fursuits to be taken out (10 fursuits to be exact. We had a lot between the 3 of us). Once the car was fully unloaded we headed to the elevators and made our way to our room. We were down a long hallway again which was a bit of a drag but, the room was nice! We walked in and put stuff down and waited for our carts which didn't take long to arrive. We got all our stuff into our room and flopped for a minute or two on the beds. What a day! We made the journey in great time thanks to Grave being an excellent driver. I got all the heads freed from their bags and totes and then we headed downstairs.
Grave and I had patron badges so we were able to go down and get our badges early which was great. Chatting with people along the way, of course. We got our badges and then explored around a little bit then I decided I was hungry! I hardly ate anything on the drive down so we wouldn't have to stop haha. It was time to eat! So we headed up to the Grand Cafe and got some dinner. It was super good, the staff was so nice, and I had a great meal with Grave and Siro. After we had our fill, we headed back upstairs to rest a bit. I had planned to go down in suit, but we were exhausted and had an adventure planned for the morning. So we decided it was best to call it a night instead. I fell asleep fast!

The next morning we woke up early, we had an adventure ahead! We went to Lake Tahoe which was only an hour from the GSR. But it has it's own blog, here!
After Lake Tahoe we got some food at In n' Out, then went to the Walmart near the hotel to get some snacks and food to keep in our room. After shopping, Grave took back the rental car and we rested a little bit. But then I decided I was ready to suit up! So Grave and I decided to partial in our Twinky Arts suits together.
We pretty much just explored around, interacting with people and having fun! Although it was pretty dead, so we thought, lets walk to the elevators and head upstairs and go swimming instead! But then, suddenly, friends galore! We couldn't go 2 feet without someone coming to say hi and give us hugs and chat. I loved it so much! And more and more people just kept coming! We ended up staying an extra 2 hours. Just talking and interacting with people. It was so great!

Soon enough tho, we were getting warm. So we finally made our way upstairs to our room and desuited. We decided to not go swimming and instead had a few snacks and rested for a bit. After a bit I was ready to suit again! So I suited up in Nugget and headed back downstairs.
Nugget was a total hit tonight, I was constantly interacting with people. Had a lot of photos taken, and gave a lot of hugs. It took us a while to make it to the main stage for the dance hahaha. But that's okay, cause it was great! We got to the dance and I danced the night away for a while. Had a lot of fun!

I eventually got tired and headed back upstairs. I got Nugget sprayed out and brushed, took a shower, and went to sleep. It had been a crazy day!
The next morning, we all slept in. Which as always, was amazing. I ate some food and then decided we could head downstairs to hang out and chill for a bit before the dealers den opened. Grave and I could of gone in early, but we wanted to shop with Siro so we waited it out. We gave our Fursuiter's World tags in the meantime and hung out with people we knew until they opened the den to everyone and we headed inside. We talked with a lot of friends, bought a lot of stuff, and just had fun. I also loved seeing all the fursuiters. And we agreed that fursuits make me emotional, haha. We ended up being in the Dealer's Den for like, 3 hours! Ah! I bought so much stuff and I was excited! Once we finished in there I knew I needed to go eat and rest before the fursuit festival. So we headed upstairs, made sandwiches in our room and chilled out. When time for the festival neared, we decided to suit up early and head down early to avoid elevator con. Grave and I wore our More Fur Less fursuits with kigus so we matched, and then Siro ended up doing the same! We were a cute bunch! Haha.

Once we got downstairs we walked around for a little bit, explored, suiting around, and we noticed there was still a good chunk of time until the big group photo, so we decided to hang out in the headless lounge for a while. We ended up sitting with a group of friends and chatting it up, it was fun! I at some point was rolling on the floor yelling, ya know. What I usually do. But soon enough they called in for the photo and we headed to the main stage room!
The crowd for the photo was already huge. No way I could squeeze my way up front, what was I to do? But then, Viridis to the rescue! He had bought me a step ladder at Walmart just for this occasion. It was so kind of him and I was so happy I was going to be seen in the photo even if I was in the back! I took the step ladder and we found a spot to go and I got up and looked over the crowd of fursuits! It was an ocean of fur and foam! Hahaha. We waited forever for the photo to be taken, my legs and feet got tired from standing around. And I kept warning people I was going to get a lot taller hahaha. Finally! It was time to take the photo! So I got up on my ladder and everyone posed and they took the photos!
You have to zoom in a bit, but both Grave and I are visible right next to each other, I'm very happy! Thank you Viridis for making me tall! Hahaha!

After the photos were finished, we got out of the crowd and Grave had a photoshoot to get to! He had Vashon in a backpack so he could make it to the Crystumes photoshoot. It took us a while to find the photo station (they didn't number them very well) but we did and he switched suits and was a part of the photo!
Once they were finished, he came over and switched back into Grave and we walked around. We had some time before the More Fur Less photoshoot. So we wandered around, had photos taken, talked with people, hugs, the like. I was having a good time! I'm not a huge fan of the festival thing, but I was having a lot of fun today.
Soon enough the MFL photo was announced and we headed to the station for the photo. There ended up being a ton of us there! It was kinda nuts! For sure the biggest maker group photo Grave and I have ever been in. Everyone got placed and the photos were taken!

After the photo we continued to walk around. More videos, more photos, more chatting, and the like. We had a friend photo taken of the 3 of us as well which I'm so happy about! I love my adventure squad. <3
I saw the One Fur All group photo was happening so I went and said hello to everyone there (I didn't have my OFA this con, she was with the studio) and then after that we decided to head back up to the room to desuit and rest. We had some food and stuff until I decided I was ready to suit again! So I suited up in Nugget and me and Grave headed down to the dances.
I danced so hard tonight! It was amazingly fun! I was out there for hours dancing and having an amazing time!
I danced so hard tonight! It was amazingly fun! I was out there for hours dancing and having an amazing time!
It's kinda hard to sum up the night in a blog honestly. I was in suit for a very long time and danced real hard. I got "fursuit drunk" again. So much so, I don't remember returning to the room, haha. I woke up in our room, on the floor, still half in suit, and I was scratching my face with a cookie. Then I ate it.....I'm really not sure, Hahaha! I semi remember desuiting and showering, then going to bed after that. Either way, it was a crazy fun night!
The next morning Grave and I had to wake up a bit early to get ready for the Fursuiter's World meetup I had planned for that morning. We ate some food then suited up, we decided to wear our Twinky Arts suits again for this as we had a maker photoshoot afterwords. Once we were suited up we headed downstairs and went to the main headless lounge and waited for others to show up. Soon enough people from our chat began to come in and I handed out badges and bracelets and we chatted a bit. Once people stopped coming in, we all suited up and went out the door to where the props were. Before we started playing we took a group photo!
After we took the photos the playing with the props began. And we had so much fun! We also made an excellent dice tower!
Again, so much fun was had it's hard to sum it up! We played there with the props for over an hour. Dice, hula hoops, beach balls, and the like we played with it all and we had a total blast. I had a smile on my face the whole time. I'd like to thank everyone who came to the meetup. It was a ton of fun!
After people got tired out, we went to the headless lounge and chatted with some of them before they headed out. Grave and I still had time before our photoshoot so we walked around the con space for a while. We went into the Dealer's Den and ran around and played with the props in there a little bit, as well as visiting with friends.
After a while we figured we could head back to the main headless lounge where all the Twinky Arts suiters were supposed to meet. When we got there a lot of them were already there, so we had good timing! We hung out in there until the photographer came in and lead us to a spot outside. We were going to take photos on the grass but it was pouring rain. So we went under a covered walkway instead.
We took a lot of group photos and had fun. It was nice to be with the Twinky Arts family. Even though my suit was probably the oldest one there hahaha. TA Kuhori hadn't been out for a while so I'm glad she got to be in photos.

After that photoshoot was done we headed back up to our room and finally desuited. We had been in suit for almost 4 hours. We got back to our room, desuited and cleaned our suits then had some snacks. After I felt rested I suited up in Juneau and we headed back down!
I ran around for a couple hours in Juneau, and I had so much fun! He is such a fun suit to play. I ran around all of the con spaces, and the dealer's den. I went to friend's tables and had a lot of fun! And at one point we also watched the Dance Comp. We missed the first few entries but watched the rest. It was great!

I ran around until my feet were tired and then we slowly made our way back upstairs for me to desuit. As I was cleaning and brushing Juneau, I found a little bee stuck to his paw pad! Hahaha! I asked a few people if they knew where it came from, and no one did! (I kept it, haha, he is stuck to our fursuit spray bottle now)
I had some snacks, and rested. But I ended up feeling bored. And we still had so much time until the dance. So I decided to suit back up instead. I got into Tammie and we headed downstairs yet again.
I'm really glad I ended up suiting, I had so much fun in Tammie! I had so many super kind people compliment the suit and tell me how cute she was! I got so many hugs and had a lot of photos taken. I had so much fun interacting with people! I was out in suit for quite some time cause I was having too much fun.

I was down there running around the con space in Tammie until I was hot and tired. Once it seemed to slow down in the con spaces we got me back upstairs to rest a bit before the dances. I hydrated myself and rested my feet until I was ready to suit up in Nugget for the dance.
Once I got to the dances I danced for a while on the floor, then on the stage, and back to the floor again. I was oddly feeling tired wearing Nugget. And very warm. So I didn't last as long as I usually do in him.

We got me upstairs and I desuited. But I didn't quite want to stop suiting. Nugget was just oddly tiring and warm tonight. So I figured maybe I could try another suit instead for a bit. So I switched to MFL Kuhori, and decided to wear her as a partial. So I resuited back up and we headed back downstairs.
At first I just walked around, thinking I couldn't rave in those really heavy hands and feet. But as soon as I could hear the music, I couldn't say no! So into the dance I went and I danced the night away! On the floor, on the stage, I just had an amazing time! It was hard to dance in those heavy hands and feet, but I sure did my best. And for a while, I kinda forgot about the weight of them.

After a couple hours of dancing, I noticed my elbow was getting a sharp pain, meaning it was time to stop with those heavy hands. So I stumbled out of the dance and we found a couple friends sitting on the couch right outside the rave entrance. We sat with them for a bit and I caught my breath. But Grave knew he had to get me back upstairs, I was exhausted and needed to sleep. So after some chatting we took me back upstairs and I cleaned out my suit, took a shower and went to sleep.
I ended up wearing all 5 of the suits I brought with me this day, and I'm proud of myself for it! Happened totally by accident which is even better!

The next morning was a bit of a hard one. Not only was it Sunday morning, meaning last day, but it was also Mother's Day. Doesn't matter how long it's been since she passed away, it was a rough morning. I shed some tears, thought about her, and called my grandma. I knew though that if she were here she would of wanted me to have a fun last day. So, I picked myself up and suited up in Juneau after eating some food.
I ran around the con spaces again and followed Grave and Siro around the Dealer's Den again. I got to meet Lucky and Skuff Coyote, who made Juneau and that was really neat! We chatted with a lot of friends and just leisurely walked around the con space for a while.

I seemed to be getting warm quite quickly this morning, so after everyone was done shopping and I was warm, I asked if everyone wanted to maybe get some lunch, and we were joined by our buddy Zarroc. We took me upstairs where I desuited and changed clothes and we went to the Grand Cafe and had a great lunch together.
After lunch we went back upstairs and I let my food settle before suiting up in Tammie. Since it was Mother's Day I planned to run around all afternoon in her tribute suit in honor of her. Once I was suited up we headed downstairs and ran around the con spaces.

I ran around for quite a while before finding Siro and Viridis at the charity auction. I decided to sit with them for a bit and watch people bid on stuff for a good cause! People were very generous and it was an exciting listen.
After it was over we hung out with some people for a bit just chatting but then we learned a friend was leaving soon. So we went to their room and hung out a bit before they had to go. We had some fun chats and I took a headless break. Once they left Grave and I decided to head back down to the con space to let me run for a while longer. We ended up waiting forever for an elevator down. We Finally we made it down and so continued my running around the con spaces for a while.
I ran all around and interacted with anyone I could, I was having a lot of fun! It seemed warm in the con spaces but I was determined. I entertained people in the closing ceremony lines again for a while before taking a water break. I kept thinking "maybe I should head upstairs" but then it seemed to give me a new boost of energy to keep going. I ended up being down in suit for 2 more hours after the friend left. I just couldn't seem to stop! I was having too much fun!
But eventually I was hungry and thirsty, and I knew I still had the dance tonight to save my energy for. So I finally called it and we got me upstairs where I desuited and got Tammie sprayed out and brushed. I drank some water and we ordered in some food to re-energize. I also took a cool shower as I was feeling pretty warm. While we waited for the food to be delivered to us, we started packing. It was a bit of a bummer, but I knew I still had all night ahead! So I turned on JT's new album and the packing began. Once the food arrived we all ate then rested a bit before getting ready for the dance.
I took 20 minutes to decide what suit to wear haha. In the end, Grave decided to suit tonight as well and we both wore our MFL suits in partial together! To make it a little easier on us, we wore a different pair of hand paws so we could dance more. Once we were suited, Siro grabbed our camera and all of us headed down to the dance! Stopping and talking to people as we went along.

Eventually we made it to the dance and it started right away. We danced so hard, and it was so much fun! All the other nights I pretty much was dancing alone but tonight I had Grave there and we just danced the night away. Honestly? Best night of the con. I had a huge grin on my face under my suit.
We were out there for hours, I don't think we stopped until about 2 AM. We took a couple headless breaks but overall we just danced and danced. And we danced hard. No holding back, it was last night! Party hard!
Once again, the end of the night is a blur. Fursuit drunk, ahoy! But this time, so was Grave, haha. Poor Siro had to watch over both of us hahaha. Grave was asking random people if they knew how to make cookie dough and I was yelling in the hallways? This time my shenanigans were caught on camera haha.
We got back to the room and a cool shower put me back into reality. I finished up what packing I could, got Kuhori on fans and went to sleep. We had quite the journey ahead of us tomorrow.

The next morning we woke up, a little slower than we should have. I wasn't feeling super well when we woke up. But I pushed myself to get up and finished packing my things. Once we were all packed we called up carts and they came up quickly thank goodness. We got our room cleared out, left a housekeeping tip, left a note, and I turned and looked at the room and the view one more time before we left. I had been waiting so long for this weekend to come and it passed by so quickly. I felt like we had just checked in. But now it was time to go.
I got us checked out and while we waited for our carts to get to us. We ended up finding some friends and chatted with them while we waited. Soon enough they brought the carts and the great loading up the trailer began!
Our buddy Varek did catch a couple of silly photos of us before we left, haha.

After some fun and silly photos, we took one last selfie with the GSR logo, and then it was time to go.
We waved goodbye to our friends, and drove away. As always, me looking at the GSR until it was no longer in sight. Goodbye, BLFC 2018. You were too good to me. <3
Our drive home was also smooth sailing. I was in a good mood, oddly for us going back home. But honestly I was riding the good vibe wave from the amazing weekend I just had. It was kinda impossible to be in a bad mood. It was sunny all the way home this time. And we even saw antelope! The drive home didn't feel too long, really. We made it back to Washington in good time and stopped for dinner before making the last leg home. We got home in great time and even had time to unload the car and trailer. We didn't do any unpacking once we unloaded though haha. I just freed all the fursuit heads from their bags and totes and left them in the living room and we all took showers and went to sleep. I sure missed my own bed!
This weekend almost can't be put into a few simple words. It was just, amazing. Best con weekend ever. I love this con so much, and the people who go to it and help make it what it is. We had an incredible time and I'm already so excited for next year!
Thanks to the staff of BLFC for helping make the con run smoothly. Thanks to the staff of the GSR, you were so kind and welcoming! Thank you to everyone who approached us about our videos or our show, you guys motivate us so much to keep doing it! Thanks to all the people who came to the FW meetup, it was fun! Thanks to all my friends who helped make the weekend so fun, old and new! Thanks to Siro for road tripping with us, adventuring with us, and being a good roommate! Thanks to my amazing husband Grave for getting us there and back safely, being a handler, being a camera person, and for suiting with me!
Thank you all so much!
We will see you at BLFC 2019! <3
